Nestled on the westerly point of the Dingle Peninsula lies one of Kerry’s iconic harbour’s at Dunquin. Facing towards Blasket Island, home to the notable Peig Sayers, this small pier typically bears the brunt of the raw wild Atlantic Ocean but can be seen here bathed in the last of midsummer’s sunset.

I have been to this location numerous times, with many failed weather conditions posing a blot on my attempts to capture this iconic location. I particularly remember a specific evening long prior to embarking on my landscape photography journey, that left me speechless with the incredible dynamism of the dramatic sunset. Sadly an occurrence missed due to not having any form of camera with me at the time. I was then delighted to visit this location on another excursion to the most westerly point of this peninsula and favourable conditions allowed me to capture something truly beautiful.
