Behind the Image

There are several iconic scenes within the landscape of Galway, and in particular Connemara, with the Screebe Fishing Hut conveying nearly the epitome of idyllic tranquillity. This particular morning, however, had been forecast to present a reasonable cover of fog in the vicinity. Excited about capturing the hut in an ethereal misty manner with elements of the scene ebbing and flowing within the image, to my dismay, the one patch where no fog covered the location at all, was this very hut! Having used the drone to gain a better perspective of the area around me, I confirmed that I, unfortunately, happened to be in the only hole within the fog. Fortunately, as winds began to slowly pick up and the sun rose, the rising, dissipating fog served to diffuse the morning light on this scene to display a softness to this landscape so familiar to those when they think of Galway.
