Behind the Image

In December of 2022, there were incredibly optimal conditions for the rare phenomenon that produces hoar frost. This unique weather condition occurs when water vapour condenses on the surface of vegetation and freezes, coating branches and grasses in glisteningly white ice. I have often found that the Burren is a very conducive region demonstrating freezing fog and with the weather conditions this stable I opted to spend the morning capturing various compositions. I expected to be finished within 2 hours, as my experience has shown that fog can dissipate very quickly, however, the icy fog lingered for more than six hours and gave me ample opportunity to capture some of my favourite compositions amongst the freezing conditions to date.
