Behind the Image

Having risen early to get to this location and expecting a foggy morning, I was unfortunately met with somewhat lacklustre weather conditions and no fog at all. However, the true enjoyment of landscape photography is to be out in nature regardless of inclement weather and I had this entire scene to myself. With nothing but the sound of raindrops and bird song as the warmth of Spring draws ever present, it was refreshing to take time to enjoy some tranquillity. Thankfully there was hardly any wind which always presents an opportunity for calming reflective images where water can be found. This particular composition features the branch of a lakeside Scott's Pine with budding shoots emerging from the branch tips, a sure sign of life returning after a long Winter.
